Sandstone is a sedimentary stone formed in the layers of sand buried beneath the earth. Once it has accumulated, sandstone forms when the sand is compacted by the pressure of overlying deposits and cemented by the precipitation of minerals within the pore spaces between the sand grains. It is within this process that leaf, plant and in some cases animal fossils form on the surface of split sandstone pavers. Sandstone is available in a variety of colours, sizes and textures. It's character and timeless look make it one of the most popular selections for outdoor and indoor use.
